Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, March 25th, 2013

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, March 25th at 6:30 PM. Plan Commission Chair Anthony Esch called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: David Blume, Matthew Chitwood and Curt Peterson. Absent were: Robert Butler, Robert Fitzsimmons and Katherine Cahill.

Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Dan Ensrude and Duane Hanson.

Chairman Anthony Esch verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on March 18th, 2013 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. David Blume made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Blume made a motion to approve the February 25th, 2013 meeting minutes with Anthony Esch’s name being changed to David Blume in paragraphs 1 and 4. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Anthony Esch asked Duane Hanson to provide information to the Planning Commission on the conditional use application for the purpose of Phase III (Art Venture Retreat Center) located at 4681 County Road ZZ in Sections 26, 27, 34 and 35 all in T7N-R3E that is currently zoned B-2 and consists of 543 acres being owned by Bethel Horizons. Duane Hanson had provided the Plan Commission members with a map showing the proposed retreat center as well as any possible future expansions. The Plan Commission members had talked to the individuals about what the Art Venture Retreat Center would consist of and it was indicated it would have a kitchen space, common area and eight resident rooms. Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend the approval of the conditional use application for Bethel Horizons for the purpose of Phase III (Art Venture Retreat Center) with possible future expansion of the proposed retreat center as proposed on the map. David Blume seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Blume made a motion to postpone the discussion on the Land Use Element-Survey. Mathew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson shared some materials that were received from the Iowa County Planning & Development office.

David Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.
