Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, June 24th, 2013
The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, June 24th at 6:34 P.M. Plan Commission Vice-Chairman David Blume called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:34 P.M.
Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: David Blume, Matthew Chitwood, Robert Butler, Katherine Cahill and Curt Peterson. Absent were: Robert Fitzsimmons and Greg Jewell.
Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Jeff Haylock, Richard Thuli and Dennis Dochnahl.
The Plan Commission welcomed Greg Jewell back to the Planning Commission.
Vice-Chairman David Blume verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on June 21st, 2013 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Matthew Chitwood made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Katherine Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the March 25th, 2013 meeting minutes as submitted. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.
David Blume asked Richard Thuli to provide information to the Planning Commission on the rezoning application and the conditional use permit of 4.00 acres more or less from A-1 Ag & B-4 to B-4 Industrial Business located in part of the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 12 Town 6 North Range 2 East at 4160 Rohowetz Road. Richard Thuli indicated that he wasn’t changing anything in regards to his business but wanted to separate it from his residence to prepare for the future and correct a prior rezoning error. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson had indicated a letter had been received from an adjoining land owner Rita Esch and was presented to the Plan Commission. The other members of the public that were present didn’t have any issues with the applications. Matthew Chitwood made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning application of 4.00 acres more or less from A-1 Ag & B-4 to B-4 Industrial Business located in the part of the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 12 Town 6 North Range 2 East located at 4160 Rohowetz Road with the remaining 12.6 acres more or less being converted back to A-1 Ag. Matthew Chitwood also recommended the approval of the following conditional uses: fabrication and assembly of specialized furniture and sewn products. Katherine Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Plan Commission recommended that the letter received by Rita Esch be forward to the Town Board at the July 2nd Board meeting.
Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson gave the Plan Commission a handout in regards to the Land Use Element that was presented by Curt Peterson in regards to land splits. The Plan Commission members were encouraged to look at the handout and bring comments forward at the next meeting. Katherine Cahill left during this discussion.
Robert Butler made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 p.m. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.
