Town Board Meeting Minutes
April 30th, 2013
6:00 p.m.

1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were: David Gollon, Steven Johnson, Dorothy Gullickson and David Blume. Also in attendance was Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor David Blume made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, David Gollon. Motion carried.

3) Discussion & possible action re: Purchasing of a Chevy 3500 Service Truck. The Town Board examined the Chevy 3500 Service Truck from Hallada Motors thoroughly. The price of the vehicle with discounts was $18,598.00 and Hallada’s offered the Township $4,000 for the trade-in of the 2004 Chevy C1500. David Gollon made a motion to purchase the 2002 Chevy 3500 and to trade-in the 2004 Chevy C1500.This motion included to transfer the funds needed from the road maintenance budget to capital outlay - equipment. This amount would be approximately $4,700.00. Dorothy Gullickson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Dorothy Gullickson arrived at 6:04 p.m. while the town board was examining the Chevy 3500 Service Truck.

4) Discussion & possible action re: Ridge Cap on Town Hall. Town Board Supervisor, David Blume had indicated that he and Kevin Zajicek had looked at the roof and isn’t sure that just fixing the ridge cap will do the trick to prevent leaking as the roof has other issues and will need to be replaced within the next 10 years. David Blume also presented an estimate for the materials only to replace the ridge cap which came in at about $500.00. The Town Board had requested that David Blume get an estimate to see what it would cost to completely seal the roof with a roof sealer.

5) Discussion & possible action re: 2013-2014 Contracted Services for Snow Removal on Town Roads. David Blume made a motion to approve the contracted service agreement from Rule Construction for 2013-2014. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Discussion & possible action re: Culvert Replacement/Tree Removal on Leffler Road. Curt Peterson indicated that the large culvert on Leffler Road is in need of repair as well as some large trees need to be removed around the culvert. Curt Peterson had indicate that this project would be eligible for 50/50 funding from Iowa County. David Gollon made a motion to have Curt Peterson pursue a price for the project without engineering costs. Dorothy Gullickson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7) Public Comment. David Gollon had indicated that he wants to make sure that there is information in the newsletter in reference to field access driveways and making sure people are using them versus just driving off the side of the road and causing damage.

8) Adjournment. David Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
