April 18, 2023 Annual Town Board Meeting

Annual Town Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 18th, 2023
5:00 p.m.
1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were; Pam Johnson-Loy and Kyle Levetzow. Absent was David Pope and Peter Vanderloo. Also in attendance was Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Jeff Haylock, Kerry Everson, Carl Thoreson, Kevin Zajicek and Randy Beerkircher.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor Pam Johnson-Loy. Motion carried.

3) Approval of Annual Meeting Minutes from April 19th, 2022. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to accept the April 19th, 2022 meeting minutes as submitted. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

4) Review of 2022 Annual Report & Audit. The Town Board reviewed the presented 2022 Annual Report indicating that the Town had a net income of $572,734.32. The increase in the fund balance is mainly due to the Town of Dodgeville receiving Environmental Impact Fees from the American Transmission Company in the amount of $593,111.87 in which $449,274.00 has been placed in a restricted fund balance as these funds are to be used for environmental programs unless a written request is made and a different use is approved by the Public Service Commission. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that the 2022 Audit Report was not completed at this time and would be e-mailed to the Town Board to discuss at a later meeting.

5) Review of 2022 Accomplishments & Highlights. The Town Board discussed several accomplishments and highlights for 2022 including the following:

1. Acceptance of Jay Drive as a Town Road
2. Trading-in and Purchasing of a 2022 John Deere Endloader
3. Hiring of Kevin Zajicek as a full-time patrolman
4. Paving of 0.30 miles of Esch Road
5. Overlays on Evans Quarry Road
6. Sealcoating of Griffiths, Davis, Chimney Rock Rd, E. Anderson Rd and Ihm Road

6) Set 2023 Annual Meeting Date. Pam Johnson-Loy made a motion to set the 2023 Annual Meeting date for the third Tuesday in April of 2024 starting at 5:00 p.m. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7) Other matter brought before the Annual Meeting. None.

8) Adjournment. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to adjourn at 5:08 p.m. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
