Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, March 29th, 2010

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, March 29th, 2010 at 6:30 PM. Chair, Dave Blume called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Chair, Dave Blume, Laura Jean Blotz, Curt Peterson, David Thomas and Larry Lenox. John Crook and Matthew Chitwood were absent.

Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Robert Butler, Betsy D’Angelo and Robert Greenwood.

Chairman Blume verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on March 17, 2010 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Laura Jean Blotz made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Larry Lenox seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Larry Lenox made a motion to approve the December 28th, 2009 meeting minutes with the correction of adding David Thomas’s name to the attendance. Curt Peterson seconded the motion. Motion carried. David Thomas abstained from this motion.

Chairman Blume asked Robert Greenwood who submitted the conditional use request to explain the current request. Robert Greenwood stated that he is trying to get a conditional use permit to consider Regenerating Fiber optic Telecommunication Signal Utility-Telephone, Automotive and Recreational Sales & Repairs, Auto body & Repairs, Retail Parts, Vehicle & Trailer Rentals, Outside Storage and Towing on a 3.25-acre B-3 Heavy Business lot in S22-T6N-R3E located at 4770 County Road YZ in the Town of Dodgeville.

David Thomas made a recommendation to approve the conditional use permit to allow Regenerating Fiber optic Telecommunication Signal Utility-Telephone, Automotive and Recreational Sales & Repairs (examples: Boats, Motorcycles, ATV’s, RV’s, UTV’s, and Snowmobiles) Auto body & Repairs, Retail Parts, Vehicle & Trailer Rentals (examples: U-Haul, Panske), Outside Storage with shielded fence for vision control and Towing on a 3.25-acre B-3 Heavy Business lot which shall have all downward focused lighting in S22-T6N-R3E located at 4770 County Road YZ in the Town of Dodgeville. Laura Jean Blotz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Planning Commission discussed the Farmland Preservation Program and indicated that they would be in favor of scheduling a workshop with the Iowa County Planning Department to discuss the program in great depth.

Town Chairman, Curt Peterson thanked Larry Lenox for serving 6 years on the Town of Dodgeville Planning Commission. Town resident Bob Butler had expressed interest in becoming a Planning Commission member.
The Plan Commission had also requested that Town Chairman, Curt Peterson verify that John Crook would still like to be on the Planning Commission due to the inability to attend meetings.

Larry Lenox made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 p.m. David Thomas seconded the motion. Motion carried.
