June 21, 2010 Town Board Meeting

Regular Town Board Meeting
June 21, 2010 @ 6:00 p.m.

1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were: Thomas Mueller and Charles Price. Absent was David Gollon and David Thomas arrived at 6:25 p.m. Also in attendance were Clerk Sara Olson, Tom Mercer, Jim Senzig and Dan Ivey.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, Thomas Mueller made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Charles Price. Motion carried.

3) Opening of bids & possible award: 2010 Road Improvement Projects. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson opened the bid documents for Contract #1 (3/4” Road Gravel) which were submitted by Rule Construction and Ivey Construction. Thomas Mueller made a motion to accept and award the bid to the lowest bidder at $7.95 per ton which was submitted by Rule Construction. Curt Peterson seconded the motion. Motion carried. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson opened the bid document for Contract #2 (Preparation & Blacktopping of Esch Hill) and Contract #3 (Overlays in the Town of Dodgeville) which were submitted by Scott Construction and Iverson Construction. Tom Mueller made a motion to accept and award the bid for Contract #2 to the lowest bidder Scott’s Construction in the amount of $47.95 per ton of material and $2,523.00 for preparation work. Charles Price seconded the motion. Motion carried. Thomas Mueller made a motion to accept and award the bid for Contract #3 to the lowest bidder Iverson Construction in the amount of $65 (Section Line, McGraw and Jacobson) and $100 (Curtis and Leffler) per ton of material. Charles Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Thomas arrived.

4) Approval or Denial of Operator’s License for Sarah Woerpel & Samantha Atkinson. Thomas Mueller made a motion to approve operator’s license for Sarah Woerpel and Samantha Atkinson with the completion of a background check and a bartender’s certificate. Charlie Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Closed Session in Accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider dismissal, suspension or discipline of a public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Thomas Mueller made a motion to go into closed session in Accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider dismissal, suspension or discipline of a public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. David Thomas seconded the motion. Roll call: Thomas, yes, Peterson, yes, Price, yes and Mueller, yes. Motion carried.

6) Reconvene into Open Session. Thomas Mueller made a motion to reconvene into open session. David Thomas seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7) Board Action as a Result of Closed Session. David Thomas made a motion to terminate employment with Recycling Center Attendant David Holz due to discussion in closed session. Thomas Mueller seconded the motion. Motion carried. David Thomas made a motion to pay David Holz for the week in which he was suspended. Thomas Mueller seconded the motion. Motion carried. Charlie Price made a motion to advertise the Recycling Center Attendant position in the local newspaper with a deadline of July 5th, 2010. Thomas Mueller seconded the motion. Motion carried.

8) Public Comment. None

9) Adjournment. Thomas Mueller made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 p.m. David Thomas seconded the motion. Motion carried.
