Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, August 30th, 2010

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, August 30th, 2010 at 6:30 PM. Chair, Dave Blume called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:31 PM.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Chair, Dave Blume, Laura Jean Blotz, Curt Peterson, Anthony Esch, and Robert Butler. David Thomas and Matthew Chitwood were absent.

Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson and Mark Rooney.

Chairman Blume verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on August 25th, 2010 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Laura Jean Blotz made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Anthony Esch seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Laura Jean Blotz made a motion to approve the June 28th meeting minutes as presented. Curt Peterson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson had indicated to the Planning Commission that Attorney Mark Rooney had requested that the Town Board postpone their previous petition submitted to the county until further notice.

Chairman David Blume asked Attorney Mark Rooney to provide the Planning Commission information on the current rezoning application of the Linda Lewis Estate, located in the E ½ of the SE ¼ of Section 5, Town 5 North, Range 3 East to rezone 23.07 acres more or less from AR-1 to C-1 Conservancy. Mark Rooney had indicated that the current buyers were having difficulties with obtaining financing on a 26 acre parcel and would possibly need the land separated from the buildings.

Robert Butler made a recommendation to allow either option of rezoning the 23.07 acres more or less from AR-1 to C-1 or to have the Town of Dodgeville continue the postponed Town Board petition to create one 26 acre parcel more or less to create a single AR-1 lot by a conditional use permit. Anthony Esch seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Curt Peterson indicated that Iowa County Planning & Development is currently working on developing a Farmland Preservation Ordinance.

Laura Jean Blotz made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Robert Butler seconded the motion. Motion carried.
