Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, April 26th, 2010

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, April 26th, 2010 at 6:30 PM. Chair, Dave Blume called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Chair, Dave Blume, Laura Jean Blotz, Curt Peterson, David Thomas, Matthew Chitwood, and Robert Butler. Bill Hanson was absent.

Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Betsy D’Angelo, Debi Morton and Joe Meudt.

Chairman Blume verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on April 21, 2010 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Laura Jean Blotz seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the March 29th meeting minutes with the correction of two typographical errors. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information that was given to her by Iowa County Planning & Development in reference to defining Working Lands Initiative Areas and what DATCP’s mission is for the Working Lands Initiative program. The Town Planning Commission felt the best way to start the mapping exercise that was given to the Town of Dodgeville by Iowa County was to define the Working Lands Initiative Areas that would be excluded.

The Planning Commission and the general public discussed the excluded areas very thoroughly and why they felt they should be excluded from Farmland Preservation. The Planning Commission had compiled a list of areas to be excluded which were as follows: State owned lands, tax exempt parcels, land not zoned Agricultural, A-1 Parcels of record, designated rural residential, urban development and commercial properties as shown on the Town of Dodgeville Land Use Map dated November 1, 2005, The Town Planning Commission had requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson contact the Iowa County mapping department and ask for a map shading these particular areas to present at the next Planning Commission meeting.

The Town Planning Commission will continue working on the mapping exercise over the next several months.

Matthew Chitwood made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:51 p.m. David Thomas seconded the motion. Motion carried.
