Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, September 24th, 2012

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, September 24th at 6:30 PM. Chair, Anthony Esch called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Chair, Anthony Esch, Robert Fitzsimmons, Matthew Chitwood, Curt Peterson, David Blume and Robert Butler. Absent was: Katherine Cahill.

Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson and Kelby Thomas.

Chairman Anthony Esch verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on September 19th, 2012 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Matthew Chitwood made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Robert Fitzsimmons seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the August 27th, 2012 meeting minutes as submitted. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Chairman Anthony Esch asked Kelby Thomas to provide any additional information to the Planning Commission on the rezoning application of 15.95 acres more or less from B-2 Highway Business to B-3 Heavy Business located in part of the SW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 9 Town 6 North Range 3 East located on State Road 23 with a conditional use permit to consider manufacturing and selling of building materials, agricultural uses and the processing and selling of agricultural/food products. Kelby Thomas indicated that he provided a detailed proposal to Scott Godfrey as requested and presented a drawing that detailed where the buildings and bees would be placed. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson also presented the Plan Commission with an e-mail from Scott Godfrey clarifying some of the definition issues.

David Blume made a motion to recommend the rezoning of 15.95 acres more or less from B-2 Highway Business to B-3 Heavy Business located in part of the SW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 9 Town 6 North Range 3 East located on State Road 23. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried. Matthew Chitwood made a motion to recommend the approval of the conditional use permit to allow manufacturing and selling of building materials, agricultural uses and the processing and selling of agricultural/food products with the conditions that appropriate screening is placed around waste and scrap containers. David Blume seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Plan Commission talked about the previous Smart Growth Survey and indicated that the Plan Commission members should be reviewing the Land Use Element and the current exceptions that are in place.

David Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Matthew Chitwood seconded the motion. Motion carried.
