Town Board Meeting Minutes
October 1st, 2019
*6:00 p.m.*
1) Call to order. Town Supervisor, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Town Supervisors in attendance were: David Gollon and Kyle Levetzow. Excused were: David Pope and Peter Vanderloo. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Jeffrey Haylock and Randy Beerkircher.
Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, David Gollon. Motion carried.
3) Comments from the public. Town resident Jeffrey Haylock complimented the Town Patrolman for an excellent job on mowing of the roadsides.
4) Approval of Meeting Minutes from September 3rd, 2019. David Gollon made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from September 3rd, 2019 with the following correction re-wording Item #4 as follows: Town Chairman, Curt Peterson had arrived at the meeting and resumed as Chairman. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
5) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. David Gollon made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s September 2019 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:
General Checking $ 266,923.70
Farmer’s Savings $ 195,459.45
Local Government Investment Pool $ 7,326.45
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 0.00
Mound City Tax Account $ 146,344.21
Township Funds: $ 616,053.81
Tax Funds: $ 0.00
Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
David Gollon made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:
Sanitary District #1 $11,034.17
Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
6) Bills to be approved. David Gollon made a motion to approve the October 1st, 2019 vouchers in the amount of $29,106.99 and Sanitary District #1 vouchers in the amount of $3,660.82. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
7) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson informed the Town Board of the Rural Road Grant program, the increase in 2020 General Transportation Aids, the mowing status and the status of fixing water damages from the storms that occurred in September.
8) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson reminded the Town Board of the Fall Clean-Up event that would be taking place on Saturday, October 12th.
9) Discussion & possible action re: Town & Country Sanitation – Recycling Costs 2019. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to an increase in recycling costs beginning January 1st, 2020 from Town & Country Sanitation. The Town Board requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson obtain pricing from other recycling haulers and this item be placed on the next Town Board meeting.
10) Discussion & possible action re: Windows 7 Upgrade. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that a new computer or upgrade would need to be performed on the Towns computer as Windows 7 will no longer be maintained by Windows. The Town Board requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson look into the available options and bring information to the next Town Board meeting.
11) Discussion & possible action re: MHTC E-mail Addresses. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to a notification received from Mt. Horeb Telephone Company in reference to MHTC email boxes. The Town Board requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson look further into the Town of Dodgeville email boxes.
12) Discussion & possible action re: 2019 Budget. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented an up-to-date 2019 budget. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson also presented the Board with a preliminary working draft of the 2020 budget and indicated that she would be working with Town Chairman, Curt Peterson on the drafted budget.
13) Discussion & possible action re: Setting Up Budget Meetings. The Town Board indicated that a budget meeting would take place on Thursday, October 10th at 6:00 p.m.
14) Adjournment. David Gollon made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 p.m. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
