Plan Commission Meeting
Tuesday, May 28th, 2024
The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:00 P.M. Planning Commission chair Krista Dolan called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:01 P.M.
Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were Curt Peterson, Peter Vanderloo, Julie Dolan, John Dunbar, Paul Lawinger, Krista Dolan and Mary Wilson.
Others in attendance: Susan Iverson and Gene Iverson
Planning Commission chair Krista Dolan verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on May 14th, 2024 in accordance with WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the April 29th, 2024 meeting minutes as presented. Julie Dolan seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The rezoning application of Gene & Susan Iverson to rezone a 10-acre parcel from R-1 & A-1 Ag Legal Non-Conforming to AR-1 located in part of the NW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 20, Town 7 North, Range 4 East located at 5386 N. Clay Hill Road. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the application and maps. The Planning Commission discussed the rezoning petition of the entire 10-acre parcel to bring the property into conformity to allow the Iverson’s to make improvements to their existing property. Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend the rezoning application of Gene & Susan Iverson to rezone a 10-acre parcel from R-1 & A-1 Ag Legal Non-Conforming to AR-1 located in part of the NW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 20, Town 7 North, Range 4 East at 5386 N. Clay Hill Road. Julie Dolan seconded the motion. Motion carried.
No additional information was provided in regards to the re-platting of Lot 5, Military Ridge Subdivision. No action was taken.
Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the Planning Commission members with questions from Planning Commission member Peter Vanderloo in regards to questions on the Town density standard discussion and the possibility to allow individuals to separate off smaller parcels of land to allow family member to build while still conserving cropland. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson also presented three different definitions of a subdivision per the town, county and state. The Planning Commission members were asked to further brainstorm ideas and to come up with possible definitions as this topic would be further discussed at the next Planning Commission meeting. No action was taken.
Town Chairman, Curt Peterson indicated that there were no major changes proposed in the State Wind Siting Council report.
Peter Vanderloo made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:08 p.m. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
