Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, June 27th, 2011

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, June 27th at 6:30 PM. Chair, Anthony Esch called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Chair, Anthony Esch, Robert Butler, Katherine Cahill, David Blume and Curt Peterson. Matthew Chitwood and Laura Jean Blotz were absent.

Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Scott Maves, Kathleen Maves, Joe Meudt, Roger Meudt, Linda Kelen-Thomas, Elizabeth Weidner and Lance Meudt.

Chairman Anthony Esch verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on June 16th, 2011 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. David Blume seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Blume made a motion to approve the April 25th, 2011 meeting minutes with the correction of two noted errors. Robert Butler seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Chairman Anthony Esch asked Joe Meudt who was representing Dodge View Farms, Inc. to provide the Planning Commission information on the rezoning application, located in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 36, Town 7 North, Range 3 East to rezone 3.5 acres more or less from A-1 to AR-1 Ag Residential. Joe Meudt indicated that they were looking to rezone 3.5 acres to sell it and allow the property owner to build a home.

David Blume made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning of 3.5 acres more or less from A-1 Ag to AR-1 Ag Residential located in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 36, Township 7 North, Range 3 East currently being owned by Dodge View Farms, Inc. Robert Butler seconded the motion. Motion carried. (Note: This land is in the mapped rural residential area therefore no additional land is required to be put into the conservancy district.)

Chairman Anthony Esch asked Linda Kelen-Thomas to provide the Planning Commission information on the rezoning application, located in the SE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 20, Town 7 North, Range 4 East to rezone 2 acres more or less from A-1 Ag to AR-1 Ag Residential. Linda Kelen-Thomas indicated that they were looking to rezone the 2 acre parcel to build a home with a studio for non-commercial art uses.

Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning of 2 acres more or less from A-1 Ag to AR-1 Ag Residential located in the SE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 20, Township 7 North, Range 4 East currently owned by Anthony Thomas and Linda Kelen-Thomas with the condition that 33 acres more or less be put into a conservancy district. Katherine Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Chairman Anthony Esch asked Elizabeth Weidner to provide the Planning Commission information on the rezoning application, located in the SW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 20, Town 6 North, Range 3 East to rezone 16.92 acres more or less from B-4 & A-1 Non-Conforming to AR-1 Ag Residential. Elizabeth Weidner indicated that she is trying to sell the property and is unable to do so beings it is non-conforming.

Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning of 16.92 acres more or less from B-4 & A-1 Non-Conforming to AR-1 Ag Residential located in the SW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 20, Town 6 North, Range 3 East which is currently owned by Elizabeth Weidner. Katherine Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Planning Commission members indicated that they still need to work on the Farmland Preservation activity that was given to them from Iowa County Planning & Development.

David Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting at . Katherine Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried.
