Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, July 30th, 2018
The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, July 30th, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. Plan Commission Chairman Greg Jewell called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:01 P.M.
Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Larry Nelson, Peter Vanderloo, Curt Peterson, Ron Robson, David Pope and Daryl Tresner.
Others in attendance were: Angela Miller, Joe Lubasz, Mary Glindinning and Dean Dickel.
Chairman Greg Jewell verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on July 26th, 2018 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Larry Nelson made a motion to approve the May 29th, 2018 Plan Commission meeting minutes with the removal of Robert Fitzsimmons name from members present and replacing it with the name of David Pope. Curt Peterson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Town Planning Commission and applicant discussed the conditional use application of Dean Dickel and Mary Glindinning for the purpose of a breeding and feeding livestock operation on a 3.595 acre parcel located in part of the NE ¼ and the SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 25, Township 6 North, Range 3 East located at 5392 Section Line Road. Applicant Dean Dickel updated the Planning Commission in regards to the conditional use request, current amount of animals located on the property, and the area in which he would be utilizing to be included within the rezoning conditions. The Planning Commission members discussed the application and indicated some conditions that they would like to see as part of the conditional use request. The neighboring landowners had indicated concerns about the lack of a plan being provided two week prior to the meeting for review as previously requested and were confused of the request and the land that would be utilized within the rezoning conditions. The Planning Commission requested that a site visit be completed on the property of 5392 Section Line Road. The Planning Commission requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson work with Town Chairman Curt Peterson to construct a draft list of conditions to be distributed prior to the site visit on August 11th @ 9:00 a.m. The Planning Commission members were urged to review the conditions as well as document any other conditions in which they would like to see placed on this conditional use and bring back to the Planning Commission meeting on August 27th. Curt Peterson made a motion to continue the discussion of the conditional use application of Dean Dickel and Mary Glindinning to the August 27th Planning Commission Meeting and to set a site visit of the property to be completed on Saturday, August 11th at 9:00 a.m. Daryl Tresner seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Planning Commission discussed the existing definition in the Comprehensive Plan in regards to dwelling units, the counties interpretation and the property located at 4394 Goldmine Road. Curt Peterson made a motion to recognize the property at 4394 Goldmine Road as a single-family dwelling. Daryl Tresner seconded the motion. Motion carried. Larry Nelson was opposed.
Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information that was received from Iowa County Planning & Development in regards to proposed changes to the Iowa County Comprehensive Plan in regards to Acts 67 & 68 as well as a magazine article from the Wisconsin Towns Association with an analysis of Act 67.
Larry Nelson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:59 p.m. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
