Town Board Meeting Minutes
January 4th, 2022
*6:00 p.m.*


1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were Peter Vanderloo, David Pope and Kyle Levetzow. Excused was David Gollon. Also, in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Pam Johnson-Loy and Randy Beerkircher.

Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

2) Public Comment. None.

3) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow. Motion carried.

4) Approval of Meeting Minutes from December 7th, 2021. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the December 7th, 2021 meeting minutes as presented. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s December 2021 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:

General Checking $ 51,103.80
Farmer’s Savings $ 462,492.91
Local Government Investment Pool $ 7,412.42
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 970,788.05
Mound City Tax Account $1,061,959.42

Township Funds: $ 534,755.31
Tax Funds: $1,632,591.45

David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:

Sanitary District #1 $16,079.27

David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Bills to be approved. David Pope made a motion to approve the January 4th, 2022 vouchers in the amount of $58,791.30 and Sanitary District #1 vouchers in the amount of $393.72. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Town Patrolman, Randy Beerkircher presented quotes from Don’s Tire for rear mower tractor tires as well as information in regards to the mower assembly cutting bar and a potential leaking gasket. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the purchasing of BKT tires from Don’s Tire. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

8) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to the audit to be performed in January as well as the upcoming Recycling Center changes.

9) Discussion and possible action re: Planning Commission Recommendations. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to recommend approval of the conditional use permit of Larry & Melanie Forseth to divide an existing 5.01 acre AR-1 lot into 2 AR-1 lots located in part of the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 1, Town 6 North, Range 3 East located at 4375 County Road Z. David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.

10) Discussion and possible action re: Chapter 10 Building and Mechanical Code Ordinance Revision. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to the proposed revision to Chapter 10 Building and Mechanical Code Ordinance requiring a building permit for the construction of a residential accessory structure. The Town Board recommended Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson contact Iowa County in regards to the requirements for needing a zoning permit to match the Counties requirements. No action was taken.

11) Discussion and possible action re: Rezoning and Conditional Use Permit Fees. Clerk/Treasure Sara Olson discussed the current rezoning and conditional use permit fees and the potential need to increase the fees with the Town Board. The Town Board recommended obtaining additional information in regards to what other municipalities are currently charging. No action was taken.

12) Discussion & possible action re: Amended Resolution 2009-264 Fee Schedule. No action was taken.

13) Discussion & possible action re: Bidding of Equipment for MACK Chassis. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information for Monroe Truck & Equipment as well as Madison Truck in regards to the bidding of equipment for the MACK Chassis. The Town Board had requested that Town Patrolman, Randy Beerkircher work on obtaining prices from these vendors for the equipment. No action was taken.

14) Discussion & possible action re: Purchasing of Tires for F-550. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson updated the Town Board in regards to the tires that were purchased for the F-550.

15) Discussion & possible action re: TRIP Project Updates. No update was given.

16) Closed Session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, employee hours, compensation or performance evaluation of any public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to go into Closed Session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, employee hours, compensation or performance evaluation of any public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried. Roll call: David Pope, yes; Kyle Levetzow, yes; Peter Vanderloo, yes; and Curt Peterson, yes. Also in attendance was Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson and Randy Beerkircher.

17) Reconvene into Open Session. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to reconvene into open session. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

18) Board action as a result of Closed Session. No action was taken.

19) Adjournment. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m. David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.
