Town Board Meeting Minutes
January 2nd, 2018
*6:00 p.m.*

1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were: David Gollon, Kyle Levetzow, David Blume and Peter Vanderloo. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Larry Nelson and Randy Beerkircher.

Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, David Gollon made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow. Motion carried.

3) Approval of Meeting Minutes from December 5th, 2017. David Gollon made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from December 5th, 2017 as submitted. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

4) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. David Blume made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s December 2017 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:

General Checking $ 148,572.32
Farmer’s Savings $ 56,365.71
Local Government Investment Pool $ 7,068.15
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 715,415.74
Mound City Tax Account $ 963,390.78

Township Funds: $ 386,378.34
Tax Funds: $1,504,434.36

Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Blume made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:

Sanitary District #1 $15,707.39

Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Bills to be approved. David Blume made a motion to approve the January 2nd, 2018 vouchers in the amount of $56,093.21. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson informed the board of the status of the 2018 MACK, presented information in regards to receiving TRIP funds for Esch Road, and indicated that an additional bill has been received for the preliminary engineering that has been completed on Military Ridge Road. The Town Board requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson obtain additional information in regards to the billing and requested that Town Chairman, Curt Peterson contact KD Engineering to put a hold on any additional engineering until discussion takes place at the February meeting.

7) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara indicated the 2017 audit would be completed on January 22nd and the Township has received a weather radio for the Town Shop from Iowa County Emergency Management.

8) Discussion & possible adoption re: Resolution 2018-302 Reduction of Speed Limit on Military Ridge Road. David Gollon made a motion to adopt Resolution 2018-302 Reduction of Speed Limit on Military Ridge Road reducing the speed limit to 45 miles per hour on the Town’s portion of Military Ridge Road. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
9) Discussion & possible action re: Purchasing of Grader Chains. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to the potential need of a new set of grader chains. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to authorize the purchasing of a set of grader chains with the patrolman working with Town Chairman, Curt Peterson when needed. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
10) Discussion & possible action re: Hand Held Radio. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to a hand held radio from General Communications. David Gollon made a motion to purchase a Kenwood TK-2360 from General Communications. David Blume seconded the motion. Motion carried.

11) Discussion & possible action re: City of Dodgeville Agreement for City Sewer & Water Services. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented an updated draft copy of the agreement that was received from the City of Dodgeville with a modification of the date to June 1st, 2018. No action was taken.

12) Discussion & possible adoption re: Ordinance Chapter 31 Prohibiting of Parking on Town Road Right-of-Ways. The Town Board discussed the drafted ordinance and the prohibiting of parking on the Town Road right-of-ways. The Town Board requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson obtain information from the Wisconsin Towns Association in regards to the discipline actions (ticketing or towing) and enforcement of the ordinance. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson had indicated that he hasn’t yet contacted the property owners on Brennan Road. The Town Board requested that Town Chairman, Curt Peterson contact the property owners by January 12th, 2018.

13) Public Comment. None

14) Adjournment. David Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:39 p.m. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
